The Great Hokusai Tea Leaf and Cup Set

A luxury tea gift set, that focuses on the unboxing experience as well as serves as a decorative piece. The packaging design is inspired by the artwork 'The Great Hokusai' with the intent of translating the visual narrative of the artwork into the packaging.
Design Elements:
Tea cup placed upside down – Mount Fuji Mountain.
Tea bags in various shades of blue – represents the Great Waves.
Die cut slot inserts in the shape of a boat – represents the fishing boats in the artwork. Placement of the slots are at the base of the box and alternates between tea bags, making it seem like the boats are drowning and battling with the waves (teabags), which is what is happening in the painting.
Hexagon box shape – references the shape of hexagonal Japanese teapots.
